Do you attend hospital births?
Sure do! I have regularly attended many hospital births. I have years of experience in hospital settings and am comfortable navigating that system while still advocating for your individual needs.
-
Do you support all birth types?
Heck yes, I do! I work with mamas wanting to go natural, wanting all the drugs, inductions, VBACs, planned C-Sections, and everything in between. My role is to help you feel informed, heard, and ready… no matter what kind of birth you’re planning.
-
Can I hire you early in pregnancy?
Absolutely! I recommend it! Early connection gives us time to build trust, get you fully prepared, and deepen our relationship. I take a limited number of clients each month to ensure personalized care.
-
What if my doctor/nurse is being a jerk about my birth wishes?
Hold up, wait a minute! This is where my nurse background becomes your secret weapon. I know exactly how to translate your wishes into medical language they can’t dismiss and I’m not afraid to advocate hard when someone’s not listening. Your voice matters. Period.
-
Do you work with partners who are nervous about our birth?
All the time! I’m not there to replace them or take over, I’m there to help them feel more confident in their role and give them breaks when they need it. Many partners tell me they couldn’t have done it without that extra layer of guidance and reassurance… and honestly watching them transform from nervous wrecks to confident partners is one of the highlights for me.

What if I go into labor before 38 weeks?
I’ll do everything I can to be there. While I officially go “on call” at 38 weeks, I stay closely connected and responsive throughout your pregnancy.
-
Can you help if I'm planning a C-Section?
Yes! Surgical births (whether planned or unplanned) deserve the same thoughtful preparation and advocacy. I’ll help you understand what to expect, help you prepare questions for your team, and be there to advocate for your preferences like delayed cord clamping, playing music during surgery or immediate skin-to-skin. Trust me, we can still make the OR and your recovery room a whole vibe.

What if my birth doesn't go as planned?
Birth is unpredictable, and my job is to help you navigate whatever comes your way with calm and clarity. Whether it’s a sudden change in your birth plan, an unexpected C-Section, or a lightning-fast labor, I’m there to help you process decisions in real time and speak up for your needs no matter how things unfold.

What happens if you're already at another birth when I go into labor?
This is rare because I limit my client load carefully. However, if this is a major concern for you, we can talk about how you feel about adding a backup doula to our team.
